Staring: Mark Ruffalo (Avengers Hulk), Tom Pelphrey (from the Netflix series Ozark), Emilia Jones (Oscar winning movie Coda in 2021 and The Running Man version 2025).

Strong performances: Mark Ruffalo as grieving FBI agent Tom Brandis. Tom Pelphrey as Robbie Prendergast, a garbage collector during the day who robs drug gangs at night. Emilia Jones is Maeve Prendergast, Robbie's niece, who is angry and burdened by her situation.

Familiar premise:

While some reviews praise the show's ability to elevate a typical crime story through strong writing and acting, others see it as a familiar police procedural with an HBO polish.

With mixed reception on the ending: Some found the ending satisfying and neatly wrapped, while others were less impressed with the resolution.

My Personal rating for this series: 6 out of 10. If you love these actors then definitely watch this movie series. But, if your time is valuable you can miss it.

Why:

The ending is what cemented this movie at a 6 point rating for me. As we all know the ending can make or break a movie/series. This one spun off into a whole different direction after key players were killed off and you thought the series had ended. Nope folks, there's more. Players who weren't significant throughout the series were now significant. A little too late, i think. This late addition to the story gave a little lopsidedness. There was a strong feeling the writers were contractually obligated to come up with two more episodes so they quickly threw down some basic, standard bad cop familiar premise and met their quota with little regard to those loyal fans who were cheering for the protagonists since episode one. That's all I have to say about this HBO MAX series while providing No Spoilers.
