✨ PART 3: Coming Home — Healing, Rest & The Lessons My Body Needed Me to Learn

Walking into my home felt like stepping out of a storm and into a sanctuary.
The silence was healing. The soft light was healing. Even the simple act of using my own bathroom felt like medicine.
I didn’t realize how close I was to breaking until I rested my head on my own pillow.
Once home, my body began responding immediately:
No insulin needed — my glucose held around 150
My neuropathy eased with movement
The fog slowly began to lift
I finally slept
I finally breathed
My husband — my steady, grounding presence — helped me regain my strength hour by hour. And tomorrow, I will walk into my doctor’s office not as a passive patient, but as a woman who survived something traumatic and learned exactly what she will and will not tolerate with her health.
This experience taught me three things:
✨ 1. You must be your own advocate.
No one knows your body better than you do.
✨ 2. Your body changes — even if your routine doesn’t.
My old insulin needs no longer fit my new body.
✨ 3. Rest is not optional — it is life-saving.
Stillness, silence, and safety were the real medicine.
“My life changed in a hallway, but my healing began at home.”
Thank you for reading, caring, and walking with me through this experience.
I am still here. I am still healing. And I am finally listening to my body.
With gratitude and light,
